Iconic Aromas

Audrey Hepburn was the inspiration to Hubert de Givenchy when we designed his L’interdit (For Your Alone) Perfume. Givenchy created this scent for Audrey Hepburn’s own personal use and then dedicated it to her when it became available to the public years later. The perfume and its bottle have remained unaltered to this day. “Truly interdit to all change.”

Charitable Gifts (Holiday Gift Guide)
What could be more in the spirit of Audrey Hepburn that a gift to charity for this holiday season? Here are just three charities that we believe Audrey would approve of.
The Audrey Hepburn Children’s Fund
Audrey’s sons Sean Ferrer and Luca Dotti created The Audrey Hepburn Children’s Fund to continue their mother’s humanitarian work. Projects include:
- Audrey Hepburn Memorial Fund at the U.S. Fund for UNICEF, dedicated to educating children in Somalia, Sudan, Eritrea, Ethiopia and Rwanda.
- The Audrey Hepburn Children’s House, located at Hackensack University Medical Center, offering comprehensive treatment for physically and emotionally abused children in a “child friendly” environment.
- The Audrey Hepburn CARES Team at Children’s Hospital Los Angeles, providing the very best medical and mental health services to suspected victims of child abuse.
- The Audrey Hepburn CARE Center at Childrens Hospital New Orleans, a comprehensive forensic medicine center aiding in the treatment, prevention and care of maltreated children.
- “All Children In School” Program, the recently established ten-year joint-venture with the U.S. Fund for UNICEF, aimed at bringing 120,000,000 children worldwide back to school.
For information on donating, visit their website.
The United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF)
UNICEF works for children’s rights, their survival, development and protection, guided by the Convention on the Rights of the Child. Audrey served as Special Ambassador to UNICEF and spent the last years of her life working for needy children, especially in Africa and Latin America. What could be a better continuation of her legacy that a gift to the charity that she so whole-heartedly believed in and contributed towards.
Heifer International
Rather than provide short-term emergency relief, the goal of Heifer International is to help end world hunger and poverty through self-reliance & sustainability by providing gifts of livestock and plants to impoverished families worldwide. Here’s how it works: you donate a gift of livestock, from young heifers to goats to honeybees, to a family in need in one of 50 countries. This family then has a source of food and income. The best part is that every gift multiplies, as the animal’s first offspring is passed on to another family-then they also agree to pass on an animal, and so on. Now that’s a gift worth giving!

Audrey Inspired Books (Holiday Gift Guide)
Here are some books inspired by Audrey Hepburn:
- When in Rome… A Novel of Piazzas and Passion
by Gemma Townley
- Audrey Hepburn’s Neck
by Alan Brown
- The Book of Faces
by Joseph Campana
When in Rome, do as Audrey Hepburn would do. Failing that, run off with your ex-boyfriend, carry suspicious packages through customs, and lie to the person who loves you…
“A refreshing, funny, pacy book, it made me want to rush off to Rome and be Audrey Hepburn. I loved it!” – Sophie Kinsella, Author of Confessions of a Shopaholic
Offering a unique perspective and unusual insight into modern Japan and its wartime past, Audrey Hepburn’s Neck is also a shrewd study of cross-cultural obsessions, and of erotic, romantic and familial love.
“On page after page, Brown’s touch, both as observer and stylist, is sure and accurate….It’s a rare writer who combines such delicacy with a zany sense of humor….[an] acute and acutely funny novel.” – Mary Jo Salter, Los Angeles Times Book Review
In Joseph Campana’s debut collection, starring Audrey Hepburn, icons of public consumption speak in the language of private devotion.
“Joseph Campana’s The Book of Faces is an extraordinary debut. Audrey Hepburn (yes) is the muse and channel for his meditations on the seductions of the screen and page, the Bright Lady of his sonnets, the star and spirit who ‘drags / the miracle vapor forth.’ His poems-lovely, witty, sincere or cynical things—are haunted both by Hepburn (and her leading men) and by a fascinating array of literary specters: Catullus, Petrarch, Chaucer, Spenser, Foucault, Barthes.” – Poet Alice Fulton
