Always Remember…

And we’re back!

The HepburnTribute.com gang now has a baby girl in its mix!

With this extra addition things are quite hectic over here… so please be patient as we try to reply to the scores of email we’ve received in the past few months. Thanks for writing! We loved hearing from you!

Happy Holidays!

We’re awaiting the arrival of our first child, so we are heading on maternity leave for a few months… Thanks for your understanding and messages of support!

We’ll see you back here this spring. We have a bunch of projects planned that we think you’ll be excited about!

We hope you all have a wonderful, Audrey-filled 2008!

Note: We will reply to any messages sent to us when we return in April 2008. Sorry for any inconvenience this might cause and thanks ahead of time for your understanding!

Trend map: How to wear hot pink

The color pink — and I’m not talking about dainty, pale cupcake frosting pink – -has been deemed a statement shade for fall. Milly, Christian Lacroix and Oscar de la Renta are all showing flouncy mini frocks in look-at-me-now shades of fuchsia.

But can you pull it off if you’re not a 24-year-old party girl carrying a flute of Champers? Or Holly Golightly? Heck, yes. Fuchsia is actually an extremely flattering color and it warms pale skin tones and contrasts well with darker complexions. The key to making this vibrant color work for you is to pair a hot pink dress with decidedly adult shoes like sophisticated black pumps or strappy nude stilettos. A simple, black or metallic clutch works best too.

Read the rest of Monica Corcoran post about wearing pink at her daily blog, All the Rage.

Note that photo that Monica used on her blog (shown at left) came from our website! See it in our Breakfast at Tiffany’s galleries here.

Audrey Hepburn Style

We’ve added three more book excerpts:

- A spread from the October 2006 issue of Domino Magazine — not exactly a book excerpt, but we couldn’t resist! This article features design items inspired by Holly Golightly.

- Two scans from the book Secrets of Style (by the editors of InStyle Magazine) about memorable, Hollywood little black dresses and the classic style of Audrey Hepburn and fashion designer Hubert de Givenchy.

View these and many more articles, poems, chapters, recipes, and photos here.

New Desktop Images, Book Excerpt, Scripts, Quotes, and Tribute

We’ve been busy working on all sorts of new things for our site.

We’ve added half a dozen new Desktop Images/Wallpaper, including a collage of images from Breakfast at Tiffany’s and a collection of desktop images with quotes by Audrey’s friends! Pick them up here.

We’ve also added an excerpt from Who the Hell’s in It: Conversations with Hollywood’s Legendary Actors, written by Peter Bogdanovich, director of They All Laughed, on why we all love Audrey Hepburn so very much. Read this chapter excerpt, as well as many other fantastic passages, at our book excerpts page.

There are so many movie transcripts out there on the web, but we wanted to give you something new, so we’ve added a brand new section with scripts! Read the scripts for the fantastic murder mystery, Charade, co-starring Cary Grant, and the play Gigi, which jumpstarted Audrey’s career.

We’ve finally added information and photos from Audrey’s 1993 Funeral and her resting place in Switzerland.

We’ve also found new quotes about Audrey by designers Manolo Blahnik, Issac Mizrahi, and Elizabeth Wilson, photographer Anthony Beauchamp, and director Peter Bogdanovich. View them here.

We have many more projects in the works, so keep checking back here for news and updates!

Have a great weekend, Audrey Hepburn fans!

New Blog Layout (Website Updates)

New Blog LayoutWhat have we been up to this week? Designing this new Wordpress Layout for our blog. It now matches the design of our Main Tribute to Audrey Hepburn. What do you think?

We have lots of tweaking to do and could use your help! Please leave a comment if the formatting looks weird on your computer or if you have any suggestions.

Thanks so much — we appreciate your feedback.

New MySpace Layouts (Website Updates)

We’ve added two new MySpace Layouts, one inspired by the infamous GAP advertisement and the other of darling black and white photos from Breakfast at Tiffany’s! Pick them up here.

Don’t forget to friend us on MySpace to receive news and website updates and to meet other Audrey Hepburn fans!

Gone fishing… please leave a message after the tone!

“I’ve been lucky. Opportunities don’t often come along. So, when they do, you have to grab them.” – Audrey Hepburn

We’re taking a much needed, week-long internet break.

While we’re gone, check out our main site, where you can peruse book excerpts, view MySpace layouts, download icons and avatars, read quotes and trivia, and see images from your favorite Audrey Hepburn movies, plus so much more!

Have a great week, Audrey Hepburn fans, and see you back here on Wednesday, May 23rd!

Book Excerpts – Audrey related photos, recipes, poems, letters, passports, and more!

We’ve added a new section to our website focusing on book excerpts. We’ve included whole book chapters, photographs, letters, recipes, poems, and other excerpts from a variety of books, some entirely about Audrey, some with just a chapter or paragraph about her.

In our Book Excerpts section, you can read a letter to Audrey from Katharine Hepburn and Spencer Tracy, bake Audrey’s bran muffins from a handwritten recipe in her recipe book, enjoy a poem on How to Be a Star, read up on Audrey’s role in the success of the store Tiffany’s, the fateful events that happened when she was 22 years old, and so much more! Please check out our Book Excerpts!
